None so blind as they who refuse to see

We are currently experiencing a rash of shootings in such diverse places as schools, churches, hospitals etc. Most are committed by young, white, males. The mode of operation suggests complete disregard for human life; e.g. victims are chosen at random as if they were fair targets in a shooting gallery. It should be obvious that these young shooters are a product of a society which cut its teeth on violent video games. So society waits for the truth to come which tells them where the problem is originating. It won't

Nobody is so blind as they who will not see! Perhaps the best example of this can be seen in the movie "Dead Poets Society". The student who commits suicide because of his overbearing father's ambitions for him, is obviously driven to his death by his father. The whole world is aware of that...EXCEPT THE FATHER. He refuses to see and blames everybody and everything else. Our world is somewhat like the syndrome experienced by the alcoholic. As the level of sensibility gets lower and lower, the alcoholic cannot see his problem...the problem is with everyone and everything except his drinking. So don't expect society to regain consciousness and become aware of what is happening. It won't!
Society easily believes what it wants to believe. It won't believe that we are running out of oil because that is an unhappy belief. It won't believe that our school system is failing..(Ignore the problem and it will go away). It won't believe that violent video games are teaching this generation to have little regard for human life because it's more pleasant to ignore the problem.
This country is doomed as all other major civilizations have been...doomed to self destruct from inside. There is nothing that can save it now...IT'S GONE TOO FAR. The financial capital of the world, New York, has already shifted to Shanghai. This is not a doomsday prediction...IT'S ALREADY HERE..PEOPLE SIMPLY REFUSE TO SEE IT.

Within a few short years, the U.S. will be little more than a military satellite providing protection for the new world leaders and powers to be in the Gulf. If you doubt it, let me give you some familiar names already flocking to the area. William Cohen, (former secy of Defense) new CEO of Consultancy "The Cohen Group" trumpets the area on his website and has been to Dubai twice recently. (BusinessWeek 17 Dec) Richard Klein, former State Dept Official, currently head of Middle East Business for Henry Kissinger, head of the "Kissinger McLarty Associates. He makes about a dozen trips per year to the gulf. Yes, by then we will have switched to alternative fuel and the oil will be a non-entity, but by then they will have drained all the wealth from the west. They will outsource the work to us and we will serve at their pleasure. This scenario is already here. You just don't notice it because not all the leaves have yet fallen from the tree!
